"Strange things are afoot.... Dude" Whoa! They're really coming back and this time Bill & Ted will be asking for help as the third sequel calls for families, old friends, and a few music legends as they embark on another adventure to save the universe. The Bill & Ted sequel took a lot of time and deliberation to consider the production of the film, but with the help of their fans who somewhat fought their way to make it happen, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter made sure that their efforts did not come to waste. This time, Bill & Ted Face the Music is official and there is only a year to wait for its release.

In a heartfelt video by Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter in Hollywood Bowl where the actors choose to tape their video, they started off by introducing their band, the Wyld Stallyns and touched a little humor by saying that they are in Hollywood Bowl but not to perform. Reeves and Winter gave their utmost gratitude to their fans who did not gave up and supported their movies and pushed for another sequel. At the end of the video which was uploaded on the Orion Pictures YouTube channel, a caption saying "In Theaters Summer 2020" filled the screen.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure in 1989 was followed 2 years after by Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey in 1991 and its sequel Bill & Ted Face The Music had its original draft completed in 2011, however, the process behind the scenes took a slower pace since then. Now that things have slowly been coming together, the production team was able to work out the logistics of scheduling and most of all getting the financing together. Because of this, the determination of their fans has been a great instrument that the sequel has been confirmed by the studio to be released on August 21, 2020.

The popularity of Bill & Ted has reached to all aspects of entertainment, from television where the first season of the animated series was produced by Hanna-Barbera and ran for 13 episodes on CBS in 1990, featured the voices of Carlin, Winter, and Reeves returning to their roles in the film. The second season of eight episodes ran on Fox Kids and was produced by DIC Entertainment, with none of the original cast. The live-action series with seven episodes in 1992 for Fox, however, had none of the cast from the film but instead included Christopher Kennedy as Bill and Evan Richards as Ted who did the same voices for the animated series by DIC.  This version aired seven episodes in 1992 on Fox.
