Dark has been one of the most viewed series on Netflix. And because of this, the second installment of the show has been already renewed by the streaming platform before the year 2019 has entered.
However, little has been revealed about its release date. But even so, Netflix confirmed that the production would start on June 25. And in considering the given date, there is a huge chance that the second season will arrive by 2020.
Dark is one of the non-English language series offered by Netflix. It is the first German-language show that the streaming giant offered to its member and viewers which adds a unique vibe to the sci-fi-horror setting of the series. Thus, indulging more fans into its mysterious and mind-boggling plot.
More often than not, Dark is typically compared with Stranger Things as the series shows numbers of kids who got lost in different timelines according to Indie Wire.
At the end of season 1, the season finale left the fans with its intense cliffhanger revealing that Jonas arrived into a new timeline that appears to be a post-apocalyptic event in 2052. And in reference to the recent revelations made by the writers, the second season will pick-up where the first season left.
But aside from the 2052 timeline, a copy of the script's first page revealed that it would somehow start in a 1912 timeline. Moreover, other possible timelines will include the years of 1954, 1987, and 2020 according to Digital Spy, the publication who shared the copy of the said script.
Alongside the different timelines, it has also been revealed by the writers that they are currently playing with the script and the plot. They are weighing their options as to how the plot will go based on Econo Times' scoop about the second season of Dark.
As for the characters, the writers of the series mentioned that they would not focus on the "older versions" alone of the character as they are moving along with the flow of their written scripts. Additionally, it has also been teased that some of these characters might die in the second installment.
But whatever the case, the showrunners assured the fans of Dark that the upcoming season of the series would certainly answer all of the questions that the first season left. And at the same time, it will create new mysteries and mind-boggling storylines that will complement well the theme of the show.
