The third season of The Crown has become one of the most awaited series on Netflix. With its apparent success, fans are becoming more eager to learn what will happen next on the succeeding installment.
As everyone knows it, The Crown's third installment will feature the older versions of Queen Elizabeth II and Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip. And this means that the young Prince Charles will no longer be a boy come the next season. It has been leaked that the Call The Midwife star, Emerald Fennell, will play the role of the young Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles, as per Harper's Bazaar.
Although there are no confirmations yet, photos and images of the set have already circulated social media. So, there is a huge possibility that fans will see the relationship that has been blooming between the young Prince Charles and Camilla.
Aside from Emerald Fennell, The Crown has also added several new stars to the show. This is only fitting since the plot features the somewhat older versions of the characters. These new stars include Helena Bonham Carter, Josh O'Connor, Charles Dance, Jason Watkins, Olivia Coleman, Tobias Menzies, and Marion Bailey.
While only little has been said about the roles that they are playing, it is already exposed that Helena will play the older Princess Margaret, older Prince Charles for Josh O'Connor, and Game of Thrones star, Charles Dance, as Prince Charles' favorite great uncle, Lord Louis Mountbatten, according to Variety.
Claire Foy and Matt Smith will also be replaced by Olivia Coleman and Tobias Menzies for the roles of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, respectively. So, it will be like it's a whole new series to watch come to the release date of the show.
The award-winning series, The Crown, is set to arrive on Netflix later this year. Although there are no confirmations yet regarding its actual release date, fans and audience of the show are inclined that it will be released before 2019 ends.
As for the plot, it is already known that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are already in their 50's during the third season, which is primarily the reason for the changing of actors. Hence, the upcoming season of The Crown will certainly take place during the '70s.
On the other hand, news about Princess Diana has not yet been revealed. There are rumors that her character might be introduced in the fourth installment.
