Huawei P30 Pro made a head-turning launch yesterday with its amazing features bringing it beyond the label of being just another flagship phone, but a flagship phone with a mission.
Rumors began spreading that the Huawei P30 Pro launch along with the other parts of the P30 series brought threat to the Samsung Galaxy S10 as well as the Pixel 3 and the two flagship phones from the two tech giants could be in for quite a tight competition.
In terms of cameras, Huawei P30 Pro boasts at setting the fad for introducing a quad-lens rear camera. Samsung Galaxy S10 features three rear cameras while Pixel 3 has one yet with excellent output quality. Pixel count could be one point advantage for the Huawei P30 Pro bearing a much higher count as compared to S10 and Pixel 3. However, the Korean giant still cannot claim the crown in terms of the camera as a higher pixel count alone is not a basis of excellent photo quality.
Huawei P30 Pro however still has an advantage over Samsung Galaxy S10 and Pixel 3 as it is the only one so far with the SuperSpectrum lens swapping the red, green, blue pixels for red, yellow, blue giving a brighter effect on camera functions.
Camera night mode being one of the categories favors both the Huawei P30 Pro and the Pixel 3. Pixel 3 uses the night mode called the Night Sight giving the images captured in almost black light a phenomenal outcome. Huawei P30 Pro also has a dedicated night mode as what the previous releases have taken advantage of.
While Google Pixel 3 sticks to the traditional fingerprint sensor at the back, Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10 are exploring on various technologies for the in-screen fingerprint scanner. Huawei P30 Pro uses the optical fingerprint sensor which captures a photo of a user's fingerprint in order to gain access to the phone. Samsung Galaxy S10, on the other hand, takes the first step in embracing Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which unlocks the phone through sound waves created by a user's touch. Although both technologies are from Qualcomm, the latter stated that Samsung's choice is one step forward.
All three flagship phones come with the USB-C connectors but only the Samsung Galaxy S10 and the Google Pixel 3 has the capability for charging other devices wirelessly. Prices vary closely with Huawei P30 Pro at $920, Samsung Galaxy S10 at $ 900 and the Google Pixel at the most affordable price of $799 and $899.
