Apple will be introducing 18W fast chargers bundling them with the 2019 iPhone releases which are rumored to have the capacity to charge the other Apple devices wirelessly.
Mac Otakara recently hinted that Apple will be bundling up their 2019 iPhone releases with an amazing feature that iPhone users have been waiting to have even for the 2018 release. The website alleged that the tech giant will release an 18W charger this year to go along every iPhone release.
Apple will call the alleged fast charger the C94 Lightning connector. The said charger will still feature the Cupertino tech giant trademark lightning connector which was released in 2012 along with the iPhone 5S. The lightning connector with be combined with the USB-C port resulting to the C94 Lightning connector. The C94 Lightning connector set to come along every 2019 iPhone release will be an 18W fast charger, a remarkable charging speed as compared to the 5W USB power brick that the 2018 iPhone users received.
As of the moment, Apple is shipping a slower charging system of the 5W USB-A bricks. iPhone users looking for a faster way to charge their device need to make a $50 investment for the 18W brick and Lightning to USB-C cable. A cheaper alternative is to make a $20 investment for the 18W USB-C brick or the Lightning to USB-C cable from Anker which would cost the user another $18.
Aside from the 18W fast charging from the C94 Lightning connector, the 2019 iPhone releases are also rumored to have the amazing capability to wirelessly charge other Apple devices. The Apple Watch which is known to support the wireless charging protocols is just one of the Apple devices that can be wirelessly charged through the upcoming line of iPhones.
Thanks to the Wireless PowerShare technology by the Integrated Device Technology featured on the 2019 iPhone releases, users can wirelessly top up even the recently released second generation of AirPods. The AirPods 2 has been designed with the technology to be recharged wirelessly coming along with a wireless charging case.
The wireless charging capability of the 2019 iPhone releases could be what Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hinted way back February about the Cupertino tech giant's next line of devices. Days before Samsung launched the WirelessPowerShare featured Samsung Galaxy S10, Kuo released a statement last month that this year's set of iPhone launches will feature the bilateral wireless charging technology. If this is what the analyst was talking about, then Apple is actually keeping pace with the fast charging technology that Huawei and Samsung are showcasing.
