Ghostbusters 3 is finally coming for 2020 as its main casts were announced by the main director Jason Reitman, a project passed on by his father Ivan Reitman after almost decades of planning, the sudden demise of a notable production member and seemingly all the delays due to wrong timing. Now there's no stopping as the popular ghost-catching group who has also caught the hearts of its viewers on its first film way back 1984. Subsequently, comics and animated series came as it has not only caught the interests of children but also those young at heart because of their amazing gadgets like a simple vacuum cleaner. However, the concept of today's Ghostbusters will be adding in the younger generation, with younger members of the ghost-catching group and breakout stars who will be the next Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz and Egon Spengler.
Jason Reitman, a Grammy award winner for his direction of Juno, has announced three of his main stars, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and McKenna Grace for Ghostbusters 3, a sequel from the successful 1984 film of his father, Ivan Reitman. It was believed that Ghostbusters 3 was already a project of the late Harold Ramis however, at his unexpected demise in 2014, the said sequel was delayed entirely because of pull-outs from Ivan Reitman and Bill Murray. Although at that time, Reitman was also a key person involved in finding a new director for Ghostbusters 3, until they've decided to make a reboot instead with an all-female casting of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon.
Ghostbusters 3 this time will be casting a younger generation of stars like McKenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard who will be among the main members of the ghost-catching group. While Carrie Coon will play the role of Grace's mother, this seems to be quite a disappointment for those who have seen the first two films of Ghostbusters and who were acquainted with the faces of Bill Murray, Aykroyd, and Ramis. Sadly though, they cannot anymore see Egon Spengler played by Harold Ramis, and the foursome might as well be joined by the genius Louis Tully who was previously considered the fifth member.
Nevertheless, the new concept which was captioned by director Jason Reitman himself as "Meet the Family" wherein the new members of the Ghostbusters 3 might be a brother and a sister in action. Given these details, Reitman has also revealed that the movie will be led by teenagers. Supposedly a foursome, the other two teenage actors are still unannounced. Some netizens and previous stars of Ghostbusters have already given their sentiments, some saying that they have disregarded the story of the all-female reboot by calling Reitman a "sexist."
