Netflix announced the coming of BoJack Horseman Season 6 in October in a true BoJack Horseman manner on Twitter. Although the streaming service is yet to reveal official details about the show, the previous season finale seems enough to know how its story will continue.
In Season 5 finale, Diane (Alison Brie) took BoJack (Will Arnett) to a rehab clinic after what happened on the set of his new series. BoJack almost killed his co-star and girlfriend Gina (Stephanie Beatriz) by strangling. So in BoJack Horseman Season 6, fans may saw BoJack's time in rehab and how he will cope up.
In fact, in an interview with Metro US, creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg said BoJack would be coming closer to redemption in BoJack Horseman Season 6. "If we're really telling that story, or trying to be responsible with that story, and he's not there yet, then there are steps we need to take to help him get there," he said. "There were more rock bottoms to hit before this character could make the correct effort to start climbing out of the pit he had dug for himself."
The previous season finale also revealed Princess Carolyn (Amy Sedaris) adopting a child. Mr. Peanutbutter (Paul F. Tompkins), on the other hand, already proposed to his young girlfriend, although he cheated on her with Diane. So, there is a big possibility that BoJack Horseman Season 6 will feature the preparation of Mr. Peanutbutter's fourth wedding.
As Netflix has yet to reveal any details about BoJack Horseman Season 6, there is no news about its official cast members so far. However, Radio Times reported the show's regular characters are expected to return.
For sure, Will Arnett will return to reprise his role as the depressed BoJack in BoJack Horseman Season 6, along with Brie Larson as his lover and the ghostwriter Diane. Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul will also come back as the lead character's best friend, Todd. Amy Sedaris and Paul F. TomkinsPrincess Carolyn will also be continuously seen as Princess Carolyn and Mr. Peanutbutter, respectively.
Netflix has yet to announce BoJack Horseman Season 6's release date. But based on the show's usual timeline, it could be out this year.
Season 1 premiere on August 22, 2014, while Season 2 was out almost a year later in July 2015. Netflix then followed the one-year pattern by releasing Season 3 in July 2016, but Season 4 was seen a little later in September 2017. After a year, the streaming service unveiled Season 5 in September 2018. So, it might be safe to assume BoJack Horseman would be released in September 2019.
