Arnold Schwarzenegger is back as the cyborg T-800 in Terminator: Dark Fate, along with Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor from the original 1984 Terminator. With the return of the franchise's two original characters, the film is said to be the continuation of the 1991 sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day that will ignore the previous reboots.

Terminator: Dark Fate will be a direct sequel to James Cameron's Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. It would be Hamilton and Schwarzenegger's reunion film after more than three decades. In an interview with IGN, the iconic star revealed her character Sarah has mixed feelings on seeing the former governor of California as T-800 again. "Let's just say that it is very mixed. It's very confusing to her," she said. "That's all I'm gonna say. It's not straight forward at all."

Terminator had received a lot of movie sequels, but according to Screen Rant, fans seemed not to like the last three films: Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, and Terminator Genysis. Hamilton believed the said three films were "easily forgettable." The 62-year-old described the movies focused on "too many people, plotlines," and left everything that fans loved from the first two films - Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which was said to be better than the original.

Hamilton was not the only one who had the same sentiment. A lot of fans expressed their disappointment in the last three films, saying it was all complicated and "hard to follow." As it lacked quality as proper follow-ups to Cameron's Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, they are now expecting a lot from Terminator: Dark Fate. Hamilton believed they did a good job by narrowing down the new movie's story to focus on the original tale once again, so it would "echo the first two films."

Meanwhile, during the Paramount film screening, director Tim Miller revealed Terminator: Dark Fate would feature new Terminators that could split themselves into two for a more deadly attack. It would also feature a new villain called T-1000 played by Gabriel Luna and the addition of a good terminator portrayed by Mackenzie Davis.

Terminator: Dark Fate would feature the return of Hamilton and Schwarzenegger's iconic roles with the direction of Deadpool director Miller. Just like the original two films, it was produced by the visionary filmmaker Cameron and David Ellison.

The film would also feature the likes of Davis, Luna, Natalia Reyes, and Diego Boneta. Terminator: Dark Fate would be following the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. It is set to hit the cinemas on November 1.
