On April 4, Beyoncé, along with Adidas, announced their multi-layered partnership for the relaunch of Ivy Park. Also, this "lifetime" partnership incorporates Queen Bey as a creative partner who will develop new signature apparel and footwear.
This iconic partnership with Adidas caught the eyes and hearts of many as Beyoncé is writing histories once again with her inspiring movements in various industries. But while most people are rejoicing for this new venture and achievement, there are negative headlines as well that followed after this big news.
The day after the official announcement, it has been revealed that Beyoncé was primarily seeking a partnership with Reebok. However, things did not end well for the two parties because the pop star witnessed the lack of diversity, Nick DePaula, an ESPN writer unveiled publicly on Friday.
The writer further alleges that Beyoncé did walk-out during the last meeting with the brand since she did not find the team in front of her culturally and racially diverse enough. He even explained what went down inside the room.
According to Buzzfeed, Nick shared that the well-loved pop star saw that nobody in the team reflects her background. Not her skin color, not where she is from, and not even what she really wanted to do in the long run. Because of this, Beyoncé pulled the plug from the supposed partnership with Reebok and did not come to terms with them.
These surprising revelations made by Nick DePaula shocked many fans before the week departs. But while the shocking news continually grows within the weekend, no further confirmation has been obtained from Beyoncé. In fact, the only thing that can be found on her site about the issue is her actual excitement over her partnership with Adidas. Hence, there are questions as well if these revelations are really true.
But even so, HuffPost published an article on the same day claiming that Reebok is denying all the allegations. As it happens, all of these "revelations" are "categorically false", a spokesperson from Reebok explained. It has been also shared by the same person that Beyoncé, along with her team, continued their meetings and negotiations with Reebok for months. So, having these allegations is quite disappointing for them since this false information is now seen as a fact based on the recent reports.
Up to date, little has been shared about what really went down between Beyoncé and Reebok. But regardless of what really happened, Queen Bey is happy and looking forward to her new venture.
