Park Hyung Sik announced on April 6 that he had already submitted his application for the military police service. Hyungsik, who's a member of boy band ZE:A, also shared he's planning to enlist within the next few months.
Hyungsik's label UAA also confirmed this news, sharing the actor-singer applied for the military police department of South Korea's Capital Defense Command for his mandatory military service. The agency further revealed he still needs to go to secondary examinations on April 9.
Currently, Hyungsik and his agency are waiting for the results of the application, and if ever he will be accepted or not, he'll still proceed with his decision to enlist this year. According to a source, if the singer will not be accepted, he plans to be enlisted as an active-duty soldier by the end of May. But if ever he passed, he will reportedly enter as a military police officer this coming June 10.
During his appearance on MBC's I Live Alone, Hyungsik earned his nickname "baby soldier". And even though he has plans of enlisting within this year, he will still fully participate in the promotion of his debut feature film Jurors which will start its cinema run this May 16.
The film follows the story of the first trial by jury in South Korea, which happened back in 2008. This is the first feature film of Hyungsik and he will be portraying the role of Kwon Nam Woo, a young and determined entrepreneur who happened to be one of the eight ordinary people and ended as a juror for the trial.
Hyungsik will also be joined by Moon So Ri who plays the character of Kim Joon Gyeom, a law-abiding judge who has a strong conviction. Meanwhile, the remaining seven members of the jury will be played by Jo Soo Hyang, Kim Hong Pa, Jo Han Chul, Seo Jung Yeon, Yoon Kyung Ho, Kim Mi Kyung, and Baek Soo Jang.
The poster of the film also features the eight jurors where they completely have different personalities. Hyungsik, in particular, is looking bright-eyed while he eagerly raises his hand. Moon Sa Ri, on the other hand, fiercely looks at the camera while walking past the jurors. The caption of the poster also reads, "Anyone who is a South Korean citizen over the age of 20."
Fans are really excited to see Hyungsik's first feature film as this would be his projects before his military enlistment.
