Fans of Charmed are in for a disappointment. It has been confirmed that the fantasy drama television series will be taking a three-week break, and will return with a new episode on Sunday, April 21.
Luckily, early spoilers and predictions reveal what's next for the Charmed Ones - Macy Vaughn (Madeleine Mantock), Melanie "Mel" Vera (Melonie Diaz) and Margarita Emilia "Maggie" Vera (Sarah Jeffery).
After Harry Greenwood (Rupert Evans) was taken by Fiona Callahan (Leah Pipes), a substitute Whitelighter - Tessa (Chloe Bridges) - will surprise the Charmed Ones in the upcoming Charmed Season 1 Episode 18. The new character will temporarily serve as their guardian angel and mentor in all magical things.
Tessa possesses one-of-a-kind abilities such as telekinesis and teleportation. Also, she has the power to erase one's memories, materialize imagined objects at will and restore an individual to full health and pristine condition.
She can also hear one's name being spoken, regardless of distance and can survive otherwise lethal injuries, and live a potentially eternal life. She is described as a total badass, who is unimpressed with Macy Vaughn, Melanie "Mel" Vera and Margarita Emilia "Maggie" Vera's abilities. She is also not afraid to be snarky about their shortcomings.
"When Harry (Rupert Evans) mysteriously disappears, a substitute Whitelighter, Tessa (guest star Chloe Bridges), surprises the sisters," the official synopsis for Charmed Season 1 Episode 18 reads (via Carter Matt). "With Galvin's (Ser' Darius Blain) return imminent, Macy (Madeleine Mantock) knows she must tell him her decision about her demon side," it added.
The upcoming episode of Charmed Season 1 will also see Margarita Emilia "Maggie" Vera trying to figure out how she can pay for college and turns to her eldest sister, Macy Vaughn, for guidance. Meanwhile, Niko (Ellen Tamaki) is curious when she sees that the Sarcana has cleared out and calls Melanie "Mel" Vera for clarity, but when the latter arrives, she is alarmed at what she discovers. What exactly it remains unseen.
Charmed Season 1 Episode 18, titled "The Replacement," is directed by Greg Beeman based on a script written by Zoe Marshall and Marcos Luevanos. It is set to air on Sunday, April 21 at 9:00 p.m. (EST) on The CW.
In other related news, Charmed has been picked up by The CW for Season 2. The next installment will have new showrunners Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro, whose previous projects include the CBS suspense drama television series Salvation.
