Martin stated when asked about the status of The Winds of Winter. "So it's very, very challenging," he went on.
However, last week, avid followers of the A Song of Ice and Fire series were sent into a digital meltdown when George R.R. Martin shared a new official headshot on Twitter. This, then, sparked speculations that the photo could possibly for The Winds of Winter. "This is gonna look great on the book sleeve of Winds of Winter," one fan commented.
Though these theories could possibly be true, it is important to note that George R.R. Martin has not yet confirmed anything as of yet. Meanwhile, George R.R. Martin, recently, said that Game of Thrones Season 8 should not be the series' last installment. During the red carpet premiere of the series' final season in New York City, the 70-year-old author said that this is not the end fort him since he will be working for the upcoming five prequels. GRRM, previously, divulged that he was writing the script of the imminent sequels, which is also one of the reasons why he stopped working on The Winds of Winter for a while.
