Fans are still hopeful that there will be Nisekoi Season 3 after its previous season ended in June 2015. Nearly four years of waiting, creator and illustrator Naoshi Komi has yet to announce if there will be a new installment to the series after the movie adaptation's released.
There are a lot of rumors that there will be Nisekoi Season 3, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Both of its official website in the US and Japan don't even have any news about the series' renewal.
So, will fans ever see Nisekoi Season 3 on the small screen? Season 1 debuted on January 11, 2014, on Tokyo MX. Later, other Japanese networks like MBS, BS11, and TVQ adapted the series and started airing the anime.
Nisekoi Season 1 earned critical praises from the target audience. According to TV Date, it even had a score of 7.85/10 or 243,000 votes on My Anime List. The first season ended in May 2014.
After almost a year, Nisekoi Season 2 aired in April 2015. Just like Season 1, it was also approved by a lot of fans. However, it only got 7.50/10 score or 137,000 votes. Does the lower score affect the making of Nisekoi Season 3?
There is a widespread practice in Japan that the studios remain silent about their show for a number of years. Unfortunately, Nisekoi studio, Shaft Inc., is not exempted.
The original manga series is composed of 25 volumes and 229 chapters, so there will be a lot of source materials for Nisekoi Season 3. However, there is no new update about the series, even its light novel series.
Shueisha has stopped releasing Nisekoi manga since August 2016. Nisekoi: Urabana, on the other hand, ended on December 28, 2013. From the looks of it, the entire franchise already comes to an end. Thus, there may be no Nisekoi Season 3 in the making.
Nisekoi's official Twitter page also has no update since December 1, 2016. But, its Japanese Twitter page is still active. Will there still be hope for Nisekoi Season 3?
TV Season Spoilers reported Japan adapted the manga series into a live-action movie, titled Nisekoi: False Love. It was released on December 21, 2018, and directed by Hayato Kawai. Hence, fans hope it could be a good sign that Nisekoi Season 3 would be the next project.
Nisekoi: False Love reportedly did well in Japan with an opening in 294 theaters across the country. However, creators remain mum about the making of Nisekoi Season 3. So, fans may still have to wait a little longer for the studio's official announcement about the renewal.
