For The People is relatively a new show from ABC under the Shondaland world of series. Currently, it is on its way to its seventh episode from the second season. And so far, the show is still receiving a lot of mixed reviews and ratings from the fans and the viewers.
According to Cartermatt, a decline of more than 15 percent is seen on the second season when it comes to the 18-49 demographic rating. This is way lower than what the first season obtained in 2018. But while there is a decrease in the percentage, the total number of viewers surprisingly increased when the second season premiered on March 7 of this year. And based on the numbers, it seems that For The People maintains its three million viewers weekly.
Although this is a good size, the publication reiterated that the network, ABC, prefers to look at the demographic rating of their shows. And as it appears, there is a huge chance that they would base their renewal decisions on this factor alone. But even so, this is not to say or to confirm that the show is already renewed or cancelled. There are four more episodes left before the second season concludes.
Aside from the numbers of ratings, the reviews predict the same thing. And it seems that the fans and the viewers cannot entirely decide whether the show is good or not. As per Variety, For The People is quite different from the other shows that Shonda Rhimes created. And unlike the others, this new series from ABC is a difficult one to invest in according to Variety's take.
While these reviews are not entirely pleasing to hear or to look at, others, however, state that the show is pretty entertaining enough. And although it has the same dynamics as what How To Get Away With Murder offers to its audience, For The People offers a more specific look on each case.
Now, For The People is set to return on April 18, on ABC and the upcoming episode carries the title of The Boxer. About the official synopsis, it appears that the next episode will focus on a homeless man who is accused of trespassing. And it is possible that he might be the boxer that the title is referring to.
And from the case at hand, Sandra is revealed to negotiate a plea agreement for this man. However, she later finds out that there might be a more serious and deeper case that this man is facing aside from the trespassing case. And from this discovery, it seems that things might fall out of place for everyone involved.
