Being spoiled to any part of a certain show is one of the most annoying feelings that any fan could experience. And much more if it's Game of Thrones Season 8 that we are talking about. Sure, there are fans who know how to respect the dynamic of watching a series. However, there are still those people who cannot control themselves.
Lucky for avid fans and viewers, the creators, producers, and set of Game of Thrones Season 8 made the series (a little) spoiler-proof. And based on the interviews that have been made with the stars and the creators, it has been revealed that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss took lengths to protect the plot and ending of the series before it airs on HBO.
Casey Bloys, the President for HBO Programming, revealed with the fandom that the upcoming season of Game of Thrones would film alternate endings to preserve the surprise. This was actually confirmed by Emilia Clarke, who plays the role of Daenerys Targaryen, as the actress shared that no one in the set knew the end of the series.
Although some fans do not actually believe this strategy as it is not wise in terms of finances, resources, and time, Kit Harrington, who plays the role of Jon Snow, shared with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that they have spent extra hours to shoot extra and fake scenes to avoid any kind of spoiler.
These strategies - if they are really true - somehow, worked as there are not many spoilers that you could see around the internet. In fact, fans can only see predictions and theories that are based on the official teasers and trailers. But even so, there is still an inkling that bothers the fans.
If anyone would recall it, Maisie Williams, who plays the role of Arya Stark, revealed in an interview that none of these so-called strategies are true. Primarily, she claimed that she knew how Game of Thrones Season 8 would end. And secondly, she explained why filming "fake scenes" is quite impossible to do.
With these things at hand, it is quite tricky to determine if the aforementioned strategies are really true or if they really happened. Nevertheless, it still worked as there are no huge leaks or spoilers shared while waiting for the arrival of the final season. But, in less than 24 hours, Game of Thrones Season 8 will finally make its premiere. And one thing is for sure, spoilers will definitely flood the media as soon as it airs on HBO.
