The life of Kody Brown along with his four wives and 18 kids has been all over the media ever since Sister Wives aired on TLC back in 2010. And based on the numbers, many people find the reality television series as an interesting material due to the fact that the family is practicing polygamy. Not to mention that there are several legal movements made in Utah towards the family, especially Kody Brown.
Today, Sister Wives is fulfilling its thirteenth season on the same network. And with Episode 12 on the way, viewers of the show are wondering if the series will be renewed for another season. Although there are no confirmations yet as to whether Season 14 will happen or not, there are already speculations that TLC might already cancel the show.
According to Us Weekly, the recent numbers of viewers show a dramatic decrease in comparison to the early seasons' numbers. And based on the claims made to In Touch Weekly, the network of the series seems to be unimpressed with the current movements of the show. This is why a lot are already concluding that Sister Wives might get canceled for succeeding installments.
Even so, little has been shared about its renewal updates. Besides, fans sought that it's still too early to tell considering that the current season has not yet reached its mid-season episode.
While the fanbase stays positive amid the cancellation rumors, a few outlets revealed that TLC has been planning to cancel the show for quite a long time now. In fact, there are claims that Sister Wives is not supposed to continue its twelfth season due to the apparent decrease of ratings and viewers.
According to the insiders, the only reason why the network renewed it two seasons ago is due to the fact that Kody Brown, himself, agreed with the network to renegotiate the salary of the family. Instead of the usual $180,000 for each adult, they would agree to receive $180,000 for the whole family if it means that the show will continue to air.
There were no proofs or pieces of evidence if these reports are true. Nevertheless, TLC gave the green light to the show for Season 12. And earlier this year, Season 13 premiered. Looking at the stats alone of the last few episodes of the current season, it seems that the Brown family is picking up little by little. Not to mention, they have been getting the attention as well of many people through social media.
So, all in all, it's quite difficult to say yet if Sister Wives will be really renewed or canceled.
