The Flash season 5 episode 18 is titled "Godspeed," so many fans kept wondering if iconic villain within the DC Comics world will finally appear. The series, however, has been giving a little bit of information about the character and there weren't any official photos of him teased online. And although the title of the episode is a Godspeed reference, the synopsis says otherwise.
According to the synopsis of The Flash season 5 episode 18, when they found out Nora is working with Thawne, Iris and Barry disagreed how to handle their daughter in the wake of the shocking news. Team Flash is not sure if they could trust Nora, so they decided to go through her journals to understand her exact reason how she ended up working alongside their greatest nemesis.
Godspeed's name wasn't even mentioned in the synopsis or wasn't even teased in the promo of the upcoming episode. So, viewers are wondering if he would appear at some point in The Flash season 5 episode 18. But also, this is probably the right time for the series to further explore this character, as he's likely connected to Nora or he's even more linked to her than anything that's going on in the present.
Danielle Panabaker, the director of this episode, said Godspeed is sort of Nora's first foe, and there is "something special" about that. But, aside from focusing on the character, The Flash season 5 episode 18 will also be set in the future. That means Barry will likely pay a visit to Eobard within the timeline.
Also, its possible Godspeed might be the reason why Cicada has a future version - who's running around within the present-day Central City. That remains pure speculation right now, especially the stance of the character in the series is still unknown.
Also, it's not yet sure whether Godspeed will be part of the show until it moves into the sixth season. If ever Godspeed will indeed appear in this episode, might be introducing him being of the Big Bad this season 5, though that might not be the case.
CarterMatt speculated the show would be moving to Red Death getting established on that role, but that's not also certain right now. One thing is for sure, The Flash still has a lot of stories to tell, and fans might be seeing new characters as it moves forward to its future seasons.
