The latest season of The Walking Dead has already concluded. And based on the season finale that aired last March 31, it gave the fans a huge teasing moment that a major character might be back when the show returns for a new season.
The Walking Dead Season 10 is already on its way. It has been confirmed already that the show will drop on AMC come October of this year as per Den of Geek. And about the latest updates about its return, a lot of things is about to change when the new season arrives.
These changes are already long-awaited ever since the latter installments of the show garnered a decreasing number of viewers. Quite reasonably, the premiere of The Walking Dead Season 9 got the weakest viewership for the show's release of new seasons. With only more than 9 million viewers upon its commencement, the numbers dramatically decreased down to 4 million when it reached its mid-season finale. Accordingly, the call for change is very much apparent.
Fortunately for both the show and the fans, Angela Kang, the recent showrunner of the series was able to redeem the plot and storylines before the ninth season concluded. The fans have witnessed the all-new improved villains through the Whisperers as well as the surprising exit of the two major characters, Rick Grimes and Maggie. Additionally, the jumps in the timelines have become contributing factors as well to the improving plot of The Walking Dead.
But what's more intriguing is the fact that a major character might return in the upcoming season. There are speculations that either Rick or Maggie will be returning on The Walking Dead Season 10. Although certain proofs pertain to that of Maggie, fans cannot help it but somehow wish for Rick Grimes' comeback as well.
Aside from the reported returning character, another possible change that could happen might center on the plot of the series. As it appears, it has been revealed recently by Ian Goldberg, one of the co-showrunners, that The Walking Dead Season 10 will have a specific walker that could change the entire dynamic of the series. And not only that it could change the storylines, but this walker can also open newer and wider "possibilities of storytelling."
But while this revelation is a little bit of cryptic, there are already theories that the upcoming season would feature the start of the Whisperer War. Although these speculations are all great and pleasing to learn, little has been shared about the actual plot. So, fans would need to wait a little more to know what would happen on The Walking Dead Season 10.
