Song Joong Ki is, undeniably, one of the most sought-after actors today. Besides his significant number of followings, the husband of Song Hye Kyo continue to gain popularity because of his exemplary acting prowess. Now that the 32-year-old South Korean actor is preparing for his upcoming television comeback via Arthdal Chronicles, avid followers of Jong Ki are wondering what he has to offer in his new project.

After the 2016 hit series called Descendants of the Sun, Song Joong Ki would be seen in the small screen again. Song Hye Kyo's better half, however, would portray an uncommon character in the forthcoming Arthdal Chronicles named Eun Seom, who would fight to protect his tribe.

As a matter of fact, in the released photos for the imminent new drama series, Song Joong Ki was seen riding a horse in the middle of the woods. The husband of Song Hye Kyo donned a leather vest with disheveled locks. In one snap, Jong Ki gave a fierce look while galloping away on his stallion.

In a recent interview, Arthdal Chronicles writers Park Sang Yeon and Kim Young Hyun revealed that Song Joong Ki has this special gift that other actors do not possess. "A few years ago, there was a time when we said about Song Joong Ki, 'Even when he explodes with emotion, there is a side of him that is rational,'" the duo said of Song Hye Kyo's husband. "Song Joong Ki is an actor that is able to have these two conflicting aspects coexist. That is why we love him as an actor," they added.

Sang Yeon and Young Hyun are hopeful that Song Joong Ki would be able to manifest these two aspects when portraying the role of Eun Seom in the Arthdal Chronicles. They even praised the better half of Song Hye Kyo because he is doing his job very well, specifically in maintaining an innocent face and badass attitude at the same time.

"He is so in sync with his character for 'Arthdal Chronicles' that you can only think of him as Eun Seom and not Song Joong Ki," Park Sang Yeon and Kim Young Hyun furthered. "Please look forward to Song Joong Ki's explosive performance in ancient civilization, which will be shown for the first time in Korea."

Just last week, the Arthdal Chronicles got into hot water after it was claimed that its staff have been working up to 20 hours a day. The Hanbit Media Labor Rights Center expressed their disappointment after an unnamed tipster divulged that the management failed to provide adequate working conditions to its labors. However, Song Joong Ki and other people involved in the upcoming series have kept mum about the allegations up to this writing.

Arthdal Chronicles is set to premiere in June 2019 on tvN. Stay tuned to Business Times for the latest news and updates about Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo.
