Jane the Virgin Season 5 will be the final stretch of Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) story. The show is now four episodes deep, but it already revealed surprising turn of events with Michael's (Brett Dier) return. As it still has a lot of chapters to offer, 22 episodes in total, fans are about to witness major twists and turns that may also feature the death of a major character.
If there is one person that doesn't like Michael's comeback in Jane the Virgin Season 5, it is Rafael (Justin Baldoni). He really went bad that he kicked Jane out of the house in the recent Episode 4.
Jane felt confused if she would still send the divorce papers now that Michael returned in Jane the Virgin Season 5. In an interview with executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman, she told E! News about Rafael's "heartbreaking decision."
"He brought him back to her because what else could he do?" Urman said. "And in these moments, you can't anticipate, you can never plan how you're going to feel, and I feel like that's such an important part of life in general."
In Jane the Virgin Season 5, Rafael learned that his emotions were bigger than his plans. He didn't expect Jane would be confused seeing Michael alive. He knew he had to bring Rafael back, but he thought Jane would only help him, let him leave, and chose him once again.
Michael was afraid that Jane would not choose him after what happened in the previous episodes. He had been through a lot that he couldn't manage to experience another pain. Seeing Michael back in Jane the Virgin Season 5 and Jane torn, he felt like he was being tortured that he had to ask Jane to leave.
In other Jane the Virgin Season 5 events, fans may witness the death of Xiomara (Andrea Navedo), as her battle against breast cancer continues. In a talk with TVLine, Urman revealed there would be "deaths." Given that the show is a telenovela, she said people are going to "have to die."
Xiomara is one of the top candidates that may meet their demise in Jane the Virgin Season 5. So, in a different interview with Navedo, she hinted there would be a "conclusion" to her character's cancer storyline that would be seen on Episode 9.
From the looks of it, there will be a big reveal about Xiomara on Episode. So, fans have to wait a little more to see what will happen. Jane the Virgin Season 5 airs every Wednesday at 9 p.m. on The CW.
