MacGyver Season 3 is one of the CBS series that will end in May. And being one would mean that it includes to the so-called "CBS May Sweep." But while the near end is fast approaching, there are still two episodes left for the fans and viewers to enjoy.

As of the moment, MacGyver Season 3 is still on its one-week break. But the media recently has been very vocal about the series. In fact, new reports have surfaced that a new villain will make an introduction when the season finale airs on May, on CBS.

As it happens, the film and series veteran, Peter Weller, is reported to join the cast of MacGyver. And knowing the actor, along with his skills, he would definitely be a great addition to the series. Based on the recent revelations, it has been unveiled that Peter Weller's role as Mason will become the "Big Bad" of the series' installment.

This villainous character is not the ordinary type of nemesis that most fans normally encounter on the course of MacGyver. Apparently, his character is somehow deemed as the evil twin of MacGyver himself.

With these revelations at hand, it is very much suitable for everyone to conclude that Peter Weller's role on McGyver Season 3 as Mason is very similar to Mac MacGyver's character. In an interview with TV Line, the showrunner, Peter M. Lenkov, even credited, MacGyver's actor, Lucas Till, for his witty description of Mason as the "bad MacGyver" of the series. So, it is pretty much expected that Mason's skill sets and attributes will be in line with MacGyver's.

Peter Weller's entrance to the series has become a much-awaited event for MacGyver Season 3. And based on the recent reports, it seems that the fandom is already eager to learn more about the whole plot. Also, there are already speculations that Mason's arrival to the storyline will be accounted for as an introduction to the series' new season.

While such speculations are pretty plausible, as the showrunner, himself, revealed that there are already plans for Mason for MacGyver Season 4, CBS has not yet released a green light for a season renewal.

But even so, Cartermatt believes that MacGyver Season 4 should not be a matter of inquiry since the show has been getting a lot of good attention ever since its premiere on the network. So, there is a huge chance that a season renewal would be heard from CBS once MacGyver Season 3 wraps on May 3.
