Netflix has given Castlevania season 3 has been given the green light, but fans haven't heard any news about the anime series after the renewal announcement. The animated series is based on the 1989 video game Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse by Konami, wherein the first and second season were both successful. So, now, fans are waiting when Castlevania season 3 will arrive on the streaming service.

The first season on the Netflix anime series arrived in July 2017 with only four episodes, while the second installment came in October 2018, doubling its episodes. Currently, the release date of Castlevania season 3 was not yet announced. But, Richard Armitage (who voices the character of Trevor Belmont) previously revealed that the animated series was preparing for its third season.

Netflix also confirmed the news, saying the upcoming installment will consist of 10 episodes. Although the release date is still up in the air, Armitage confirmed in an interview in June 2018 that they would start recording episodes of Castlevania season 3 "soon," so that means they have already started doing that by now. Otakukart speculated the animated series might drop in Fall 2019, as show is likely preparing for another Halloween release.

As for the cast of Castlevania season 3, of course, fans can still expect Armitage to return as Trevor Belmont, along with fellow Hobbit trilogy star Graham McTavish (who voices Dracula Vlad Tepes). Other cast members expected to return include James Callis (Adrian Țepeș/Alucard), Matt Frewer (The Bishop), Tony Amendola (The Elder), and Alejandra Reynoso (Sypha Belnades).

Right now, the plot of Castlevania season 3 is still unknown. But, it's worth noting the finale of the second installment shows the seeming death of Dracula at the hands of Alucard - who happens to be his son. The ending suggests Dracula might be gone for good, though it's very likely he'll come back undead in the third season.

However, it is also possible the anime series is brewing a new villain, and many speculated it will be Carmilla (voiced by Jaime Murray). Spoilers suggest she would take on the role of the big bad, which is something she has never been given in the video game but it would fit on her in the Netflix anime series.

On the other note, Trevor and Sypha left Alucard to go on a new adventure, while now orphaned dhampir is alone at his now stationary castle and had to deal with the fact that he killed his own father. But definitely, a new status quo is being set up which could be further explored in Castlevania season 3.
