There's going to be a lot to digest as The Resident season 2 nearly comes to a close. In episode 21, titled "Stuck as Foretold," Conrad (played by Matt Czuchry) will be desperately donating his blood to a patient.
According to the episode synopsis, the Chastain hospital will encounter a major problem regarding the shortage of blood in The Resident season 2 episode 21. But after exhausting all means, Conrad is left with little choice, so he offers his blood to save the life of a patient.
As seen in the teaser, Mina (played by Shaunette Renée Wilson) warns Conrad that they have yet to do some tests for HIV or Hepatitis before they could drain some blood in him. However, Conrad intensely looks at Mina and assures her that everything will be fine.
Could this be a foreshadowing of more troubles for Conrad? And will this have an impact not just on his career and his health but also in his relationship with Nic (played by Emily VanCamp)?
The Resident season 2 executive producer Todd Harthan has shed some light on what's yet to come for Conrad in the final three episodes. In an interview with TV Line, Harthan said that his relationship with Nic would face more tests.
As it is, Nic is already going through a lot with her sister's medical case as they still haven't found an ideal kidney donor for the transplant of Jessie (played by Julianna Guill). In the last few episodes of The Resident season 2, viewers have seen just how strong Nic has been while facing this health scare with her sister. But what if it's Conrad's life that could be on the line? How much more heartaches will Nic endure?
"We'll continue to put certain obstacles in front of them, and it really does become about each of them being there for each other at their darkest and most difficult times," the EP hinted. "We are going to put them through the wringer in these last three, but I think the audience will be excited to see where they land."
Elsewhere in The Resident season 2 episode 21, Mina and Devon (played by Manish Dayal) will be working alongside a new anesthesiologist during surgery, but something doesn't seem right with this doctor. Bell (played by Bruce Greenwood), on the other hand, will come across a woman from his past just as his relationship with Kit (played by Jane Leeves) seems to be going somewhere.
The Resident season 2 episode 21 airs on Monday, April 22, at 8:00 p.m.
