Details about the upcoming The Winds of Winter novel are still limited up until now. Avid followers of the A Song of Ice and Fire series have been waiting for its sixth installment since 2011, which is the time when George R.R. Martin first announced that he is working on TWOW already. Now, fans are wondering if the much-awaited book would be published before Game of Thrones Season 8 finale.

George R.R. Martin, previously, divulged that the popular HBO show has affected the storyline of The Winds of Winter. Though the 70-year-old American writer tried his best to get ahead of the Game of Thrones series, it is quite impossible since some parts of the plotlines are no longer parallel to each other.

Tower of the Hand editor John Jasmin revealed some details on what devoted followers of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series could expect in the forthcoming new installment. "We have seen some excerpts from The Winds of Winter, which have made their way into the show," the founder of the popular Game of Thrones fan site said. "I suppose it's inevitable that the books do this, too, but so far Martin has defied expectations, preferring to pair up characters who don't already have an established relationship rather than allow them to catch up with their long-lost friends and family," he added.

Recently, George R.R. Martin revealed that he would like to stay ahead of the HBO series since he had five novels lead when he began writing the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Then, he stated, in a recent interview, that he is disappointed with himself for letting that happen. The veteran author even said that Game of Thrones has affected the writing process of The Winds of Winter in various occasions.

"The series has been extremely faithful compared to 97 per cent of all television and movie adaptations of literary properties, but it's not completely faithful, and it can't be, otherwise we'd have to run another five seasons," George R.R. Martin stated about The Winds of Winter. Though he, previously, predicted to complete the book in "late 2018 or early 2019," it seems like fans have to wait a little longer as he continues to write the book in a secret cabin.

Despite this, some followers of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series are positive that TWOW would arrive very soon. Stay tuned to Business Times for the latest spoilers, news, and updates about the up-and-coming The Winds of Winter novel.
