Ray Donovan Season 7 will surely hit the small screens after Showtime ordered for the series' new set of episodes. It remains a big mystery what will happen next to the intertwined lives of the show's major characters after the explosive season finale. So, here is everything we know so far.
In an interview with TVLine, showrunner David Hollander talked about the possible Ray Donovan Season 7's turn of events after the previous season's final episode. As the last scene seemed to tease a larger role for Alan Alda after Ray (Liev Schreiber) phoned him for another set of sessions, would fans see more of Dr. Arthur Amiot?
"Yes, we will see [more of] Alan [next season]," Hollander confirmed. There would be therapy sessions in Ray Donovan Season 7, but it would be more about Ray and Arthur's relationship. Ray seemed to need a father figure, and he would see it with Arthur.
Although Ray and Arthur's therapy sessions might be uninteresting, fans should see what is beyond their relationship. Arthur might suggest how Ray should look at things happening around him in Ray Donovan Season 7, and viewers need to see how Ray would respond.
Talking about Mickey, Hollander teased Jon Voight would always be around Ray Donovan Season 7. Although he didn't reveal if Mickey would go to prison, he didn't deny it would be the case. However, he said it didn't mean Mickey would play ball.
Another one that could play a bigger role in Ray Donovan Season 7 is Ed Ferrati (Zach Grenier). Ray never liked Ferrati, so fans have to see how their relationship would evolve from being the typical employer-employee.
Showtime has been keeping mum about Ray Donovan Season 7. However, there are strong assumptions on who will return in the series. Of course, Schreiber is expected to make a comeback to reprise his role as the lead character Ray.
According to Express.co.uk, other series regulars are also anticipated to appear in Ray Donovan Season 7 like Susan Sarandon, although her role as Sam Winslow died in the previous season. Eddie Marsan is also likely to make a comeback as Terry, along with Dash Mihok as Bunchy.
Showtime has yet to announce Ray Donovan Season 7's release date, but there are assumptions it will be out following its usual timeline. The show is usually out in the second half of the year, so it may be safe to assume that the new season will be released in late 2019.
