Following a number of reports claiming that the Samsung Galaxy Fold breaks its screen, the South Korean tech giant is finally pulling the plug off of its official debut in China. Samsung added that it is not canceling the release of the foldable phone in China, it is just delaying it in order to make amends to said breaking screens.

Following the official release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold in a number of markets, a number of tech reviewers have touted that the phone's screen easily breaks after a couple of use. These incidents have caused quite a stir in the tech community, and many experts have said that it might have affected the overall reputation of the revolutionary phone.

While a number of reports claimed that the U.S. release of the Galaxy Fold remains unaffected, Samsung decided to postpone the release of the phone in a number of key markets. Among these markets are Hong Kong and Shanghai. Samsung originally planned to launch the Galaxy Fold in Hong Kong on April 23 but decided to call off the event at the last minute. The China launch of the phone was originally scheduled on April 24.

According to Engadget Chinese, a representative of Samsung gave no reason why they decided to delay the launch. As of this writing, no launch date had been set for the Greater China region. However, many tech analysts have said those eager Chinese consumers will have to wait a little longer before they can get their hands on the Galaxy Fold. While Samsung has made steps to distance itself from the incidents, the timing of its recent decisions points the other way.

In April, a number of early reviewers of the Samsung Galaxy Fold have found out that the phone's display broke after just a few days of use. Addressing this issue, Samsung said in a statement that the suspected damage experienced by a number of reviewers may be caused by "impact on the top and bottom exposed areas of the hinge."

The company added that there are "substances" found inside of the review devices that may be the cause of its sub-par performance. The South Korean tech giant said that it is already investigating what went wrong with the review units.

Chinese smartphone manufacturers Huawei and Xiaomi are also developing their own foldable smartphones. However, neither of the company has announced a release date for their products.
