Initially, the two South Korean superstars kept mum about their real score until they decided to announce their wedding plans, in July 2017, out of the blue. Now that the Song-Song couple have been married for almost two years, divorce rumors started to hound their relationship.
Reports about Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo's alleged plans for divorce sparked when they were spotted traveling without their wedding rings on separate occasion. Many sightseers noticed that Joong Ki and Hye Kyo are not fond of wearing their bands. Because of this, a few speculated that there could be something wrong going on in their married life.
Divorce rumors exacerbated when fans pointed out that Song Hye Kyo has been deleting photos on her official Instagram account - pictures that also include her husband, Song Joong Ki. The Descendants of the Sun actress were even posting black-and-white photos of herself and her pet, which, reportedly, suggested that she is currently "lonely" in her life.
Despite this, the respective talent management agencies of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo claimed that they are living happily together. It even stated that there is no need to respond to these baseless and malicious divorce rumors since these are all fabricated and made-up.
Recently, Song Joong Ki debunked all the hounding divorce rumors when he appeared on the Arthdal Chronicles behind-the scenes video wearing his wedding ring. Sina, which is the news outlet that sparked the Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo divorce rumors, picked up the news abruptly. It, also, discredited its previous claim and stated that there is no problem in Joong Ki and Hye Kyo's married life.
Avid followers of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo criticized the divorce rumors since they believe that they two are very much in love with each other. As a matter of fact, the Descendants of the Sun stars are rumored to be staring their family very soon after Hye Kyo announced that she is not receiving any projects until the end of the year. Hye Kyo's last television series was Encounter, which starred Joong Ki's close pal, Park Bo Gum.
However, it was later learned that Song Hye Kyo might not be appearing on small screens yet because she would be working on a new film. The wife of Song Joong Ki, recently, signed up with Jet Tone Films, which is a production company owned by popular Chinese director Wong Kar Wai. "I want to work on more projects with Chinese directors and actors," Hye Kyo stated during a film festival in Hong Kong last month.
