Many fans are thrilled for the upcoming return of Song Joong Ki to the small screens since his last project titled Man to Man in 2017. The husband of Song Hye Kyo is set to make his TV comeback via the imminent new South Korean television series called Arthdal Chronicles. However, recent reports suggest that Joong Ki's new character is going to be different from his previous roles.
For starters, the new forthcoming drama series of Song Joong Ki focuses on the story of the birth of civilization in the ancient city of Arthdal, which is the capital of the Gojoseon province. Spoilers have it that Arthdal Chronicles will be filled with eccentric characters and mythical heroes.
Here, Song Joong Ki portrays the role of Eun Som, who is said to be a cursed child born in the Blue Stone Village. The character of Song Hye Kyo's better half becomes a hero after conquering the ancient city of Arthdal and turning it into an empire. Eun Som would, of course, need the help of his friends to be able to do this like Tan-Ya (Kim Ji Won), Tae Al Ha (Kim Ok Vin) and Ta Gon (Jang Dong Gun).
Followers of the 2016 hit series Descendants of the Sun are aware that Arthdal Chronicles is going to be the reunion project of Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won. It can be recalled that, before the up-and-coming Arthdal Chronicles, the husband of Song Hye Kyo and Ji Won played as Captain Yoo Shi Jin and Yoon Myeon Joo in DOTS.
Arthdal Chronicles is said to have a budget of $34 million and is already tagged as the Korean version of Game of Thrones. The new drama series of Song Joong Ki is set to premiere on June 1. It will be divided into three seasons, as per reports.
Meanwhile, divorce rumors continue to hound Song Joong Ki's marriage with Song Hye Kyo. Speculations are rife that the Song-Song couple has, already, broken up after they were spotted not wearing their wedding rings. Some fans even noticed that Hye Kyo deleted photos of Joong Ki on her official Instagram account.
However, the talent agencies of the popular South Korean couple have debunked the divorce rumors. It is claimed that these malicious speculations are baseless and nonsensical on all levels.
