A royal expert claims Queen Elizabeth II gave Meghan Markle a stern message after scolding staff over eggs, and this incident reportedly happened days before Markle and Prince Harry's wedding.

According to Katie Nicholl, royal correspondent for Vanity Fair and a British best-selling author, the former Suits actress insisted that there should be a macrobiotic alternative for some of the Hollywood celebrity guests attending the ceremony who follow a diet.

Nicholl told Yahoo's Royal Box that Markle was told there's no egg in the dish, but she reportedly got upset when she could taste the egg in it. But then, Queen Elizabeth suddenly walked in and took the Duchess of Sussex on the side and reportedly told her: "Meghan, in this family, we don't speak to people like that."

In her recently published book Harry and Meghan: Life, Loss, and Love, Nicholl explores the royal couple's romance and how their high-profile union reshaped the monarchy. The book features interviews with their close friends, palace aides, as well as those who have worked with the Duke of Sussex.

Meanwhile, this isn't reportedly the first time Queen Elizabeth intervened during the planning of Markle and Prince Harry's wedding. Previous reports claim the Duchess of Sussex allegedly "threw a tantrum" as Her Majesty didn't approve the tiara that she chose.

Back in March, author and royal journalist Robert Jobson told Royal Box that Queen Elizabeth allegedly denied her emerald tiara for the royal wedding and it was reportedly Prince Harry's fault. Jobson said Markle wasn't difficult in choosing a tiara, but the Duke of Sussex was probably being overprotective and defensive that time.

But it seems like Queen Elizabeth and Markle are now in good terms. Previously, Nicholl told Fox News that the two developed a close bond after the former actress becomes part of the royal family. Her Majesty reportedly recognizes how the Duchess of Sussex makes Prince Harry and sees how capable she is as a royal.

Furthermore, Nicholl claimed Queen Elizabeth is so fond of Markle wherein she even invited her to some royal gatherings even though she wasn't married to Prince Harry during those times. Perhaps, Her Majesty could likely sense how her grandson is concerned about his future before he met the former actress.

Prince Harry reportedly felt like he'll be left on the shelf, as his brother was already married and have kids. Also, many of his friends were getting married, so that's possibly one of the reasons why Queen Elizabeth is fond of Markle since she made her grandson happy.
