The future of Dead to Me Season 2 remains up in the air after Netflix only gave it a single season order. But, there is still hope for the dark comedy web television series. With its positive reviews and fans' strong support, the expectation is high that it will get renewed.

It usually takes a couple of months before Netflix renews its shows. As the streaming service only dropped the first season's 10 episodes on May 3, it may be too early to see the network to order Dead to Me Season 2.

However, some fans fear that Dead to Me Season 2 may not happen after Netflix canceled Santa Clarita Diet Season 4, despite its cliffhanging finale. According to What's on Netflix, Christina Applegate, who plays as Jen Harding, and Lina Cardellini, who portrays Judy Hale's character, also have their commitments to appear in the films Your Time is Up and Fonzo, respectively. But as their next projects are going to be movies, it may not have a problem if they will do another season of the TV series.

Dead to Me Season 2 still has a lot of stories to tell. Bustle reported there are too many twists and turns throughout the first season, especially with Judy's personality.

Although the first season wrapped up with a proper ending, it doesn't mean it has no new stories to explore. A Redditor claimed Dead to Me Season 2 could focus on redemption as the characters try to make peace with the people who have wronged them.

So if Netflix orders Dead to Me Season 2, Applegate and Cardellini are expected to return to reprise their roles and took their leads. The show centered on these two widows' story after the death of their partners. As they met at the Friends of Heaven support group, they had shared their ups and downs, and what seemed to be Judy's big secret.

Digital Spy noted other casts that could return to Dead to Me Season 2 are Max Jenkins as Christopher, Luke Roessler as Henry, James Marsden as Steve, Ed Asner as Abe, and Sam McCarthy as Charlie. They all play significant roles in Judy and Jen's lives, so there is a big chance they would make a comeback for a new season.

Also in the show are Diana Maria Riva as Ana Perez, Suzy Nakamura as Karen, Keong Sim as Pastor Wayne, and Haley Sims as Kayley. However, it remains to be seen if they, too, would be back on Dead to Me Season 2. Aside from the original stars, there are also theories that there would be new faces coming in the new season, which may be out later this year or in 2019.
