Knightfall Season 2 is only two episodes away before it comes to an end, and things are getting pretty intense. King Philip (Ed Stoppard) will continue with his revenge, while the Knights Templar will face a trial in Episode 7.

After the Knights Templar got captured and returned to Paris, the order has to face trial for heresy in Knightfall Season 2 Episode 7. The show always shows interesting moments - especially with the cast of its historical characters.

The Knights Templar and even King Philip showed strong actions throughout Knightfall Season 2. But the most noticeable of all, the latter's transformation as Stoppard perfectly embodied his character's "emotional and physical changes."

With only two episodes remaining, Stoppard revealed in an interview with TV Insider what fans could expect as Knightfall Season 2 comes to an end. "They can expect him to continue on his path of revenge and retribution against Landry (Tom Cullen) specifically and the Templars more generally," he said.

Stoppard continued to say the show knows how to maintain the tension and then suddenly ramps it up as the stakes increase. It is also inevitable for the Knights Templar and King Philip to come together in Knightfall Season 2.

"I've felt like this season it would be nice to see a man who was kind of liberated in a way - kind of unshackled," Stoppard continued to say about Knightfall Season 2. In the first season, he said his character was "king of hamstrung" due to the events he was in, the weight of history, and what he thinks people's expectations of him.

Things seemed to change in Knightfall Season 2 as King Philip looked like he is now more true to himself and to who he is. Although he is nicer in the previous season, he now becomes more authentic.

It took over a year before Knightfall Season 2 hit the small screens in March. Just like Vikings, the History Channel wants to cover the political intrigue surrounding the Crusades and the Knights Templar during the Middle Ages.

"In the face of ever-increasing competition, we're proud of History's track record of producing signature drama series that are epic in scope with complex characters," Executive Vice President of Programming at History Channel Eli Lehrer said, via Den of Geek. "These series reflect our commitment to bringing the defining, big canvas stories of history to life. We look forward to offering our viewers a grittier, darker Knightfall season 2."
