Fans are now waiting for Line of Duty Season 6 after the previous season's cliffhanging finale. It was revealed there were a group of four bent coppers working with the police, and the last member would be unveiled in the new season.
Gill (Polly Walker) has been revealed working with Dot Cottan (Craig Parkinson) and ACC Hilton (Paul Higgins). However, the fourth member of the bent coppers has yet to be unveiled, but it is said to be out in Line of Duty Season 6.
There are suspicions Ted (Adrian Dubar) is the final member of the bent coppers in Line of Duty Season 6. In fact, in an interview with producer Jed Mercurio, via The Sun, he didn't deny the possibility of it.
Ted has been displaying suspicious behavior, like misspelling the word "definately." Dubar's character even explained he learned messages between the "mysterious employer and the OCG." Hence, he purposely wronged the spelling. Mercurio even said it was a "plausible defense."
"Because we haven't witnessed that, it's something where we're relying on the audience to make up their own mind on," Mercurio added. Fans were not sure if Ted gave details of Lee Banks (Alastair Natkiel) to the police and if the OCG would hunt Gill (Polly Walker) and Lisa (Rochenda Sandall). So, these are just one of the few things fans look forward to in Line of Duty Season 6.
After what happened to Tommy (Brian McCardie) and Jimmy (Patrick Baladi), it could be seen that no one could escape the crime gang. So, it might be an interesting scene to see how Gill and Lisa would try to run away from the group in Line of Duty Season 6.
Meanwhile, an insider told Daily Mail Online, it would take time before Line of Duty Season 6 would be materialized. "Information about the sixth season - like when it's scheduled to air - won't be coming any time soon," the source said. "It needs to be written first, after all."
Mercurio has yet to write Line of Duty Season 6 script, as he is also working on Bodyguard Season 2, which will be out before the police procedural drama. There is also a usual two-year gap between the seasons, so fans may continue seeing the AC-12 team in 2021.
Mercurio told Digital Spy there is no way that he could work on Line of Duty Season 6 and Bodyguard Season 2 at the same time. As he is currently in talks with the BBC about the shows' future, he couldn't say anything yet about what would happen next.
