The droughtlander will be over soon as Caitriona Balfe, and Starz itself gave fans a sneak peek of Outlander Season 5 production. Yes, the camera starts rolling as the filming is now taking place on set, showing the cast that viewers surely miss.

Caitriona Balfe, who plays as Claire, has been regularly giving Outlander Season 5 details on Instagram. Recently, the 39-year-old star shared a clip of the new season's production, complete with the cast's first words.

"The family is growing on Fraser's Ridge," Caitriona Balfe captioned the video. "So excited to share this look at our first day of shooting season 5."

Caitriona Balfe's post is the same clip Starz dropped. The footage takes fans to the behind-the-scenes events of Outlander Season 5. Here, Sam Heughan, who portrays Jaime's character and also the show's producer, can be seen with Sophie Skelton (Brianna) and Balfe doing their sequences.

Sam Heughan greeted everyone in the video and said Outlander Season 5 production has started. The clip then showed Claire and Jaime's American home - the Fraser's Ridge.

Caitriona Balfe hinted the house would continue to be a big part of the show's story in Outlander Season 5. She also revealed the new chapter would be "bigger and better."

Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin (Roger), on the other hand, teased what is coming for their characters' growing family. Without giving too many details, Rankin said the Fraser clan is "getting bigger," while Skelton added something special is going to happen that fans would surely be excited to see it.

Duncan Lacroix is also seen in the clip and revealed his character as Murtagh Frasher would continuously be seen in Outlander Season 5. However, it would be a major departure to Diana Gabaldon's book series. "We cannot wait to show you what we're up to," Sam Heughan teased, ending the video.

Outlander Season 5 will be based on Diana Gabaldon's fifth Outlander book, titled Drums of Autumn. In Season 4, fans saw Jamie and Claire decided to stay in the New World. However, RTE noted it was the start of America and was not the easiest time to live.

As they managed to survive, Jamie and Claire have to do everything to protect their family and community in Outlander Season 5. Starz has yet to reveal when the new installment will officially be out, but some expect it to happen this year. The show also got renewed for Season 6, so there would be a lot of drama fans have to wait and see.
