On Friday, Netflix has finally dropped the first look at Designated Survivor Season 3. As it appears, the streaming giant has released the official trailer and promotional poster for the upcoming season. And along with the promotional materials at hand, it has been announced that the new season will arrive on June 7 of this year.
Previously, the speculated premiere date was set in between the summer and fall season. Hence, it seems that Designated Survivor Season 3 gets an earlier premiere date.
This caused many fans to celebrate since they can now officially get to have an all-new season of the show. This is actually in consideration of the fact that Designated Survivor was canceled by ABC last year. But luckily for the production and the avid viewers, Netflix picked up the show a few months after and announced that they will order Designated Survivor Season 3.
As you may know, Designated Survivor Season 2 ended with President Tom Kirkman's decision to run independently on the upcoming re-election for the presidency. Accordingly, it is somehow given already that the new season will largely focus on his plans of actions regarding the campaign and re-election.
And with the given official trailer, it seems that President Tom Kirkman will face a lot of challenges and struggles in his campaign period. Not to mention that the trailer showed his apparent loss of temper in the middle of a live speech. And it seemingly appears that the mass has lost their interest with their President.
In addition to his campaign and re-election problems, it has also been revealed that Aaron is on the ticket running for the position of Vice President. So, it is deemed that more challenges will arise as the new plot progresses.
There is also a scene in the short clip that teases his potential loss in the upcoming elections. But while it can be a plausible plot, there is still a huge chance that Keifer Sutherland will end up winning again.
All of these speculations will be finally confirmed once Designated Survivor Season 3 arrives on Netflix. Even so, one thing is for sure, and that is the new season will tackle all the reality that has been circulating the politics of campaigns, elections, and government in recent times.
As for the cast, the series regulars will be joined by new faces. And the actors include Anthony Edwards, Julie White, Benjamin Watson, and Elena Tovar.
