The Resident Season 2 left the fans and viewers with a huge cliffhanger. And it looks like things are not working well for Nic and her family.
During the final moments of the second season finale, Nic was paged from the desk that something terrible is happening with one of her family members. But as for the identity of this family member of hers, that is the cliffhanger of The Resident Season 2 finale. One thing is for certain though, and this is the fact that either Kyle or Jessie is flatlining in the last few seconds of the episode.
As you may know, Jessie has been suffering from a fatal condition since the early episodes of the show. And in the recent episode, Nic asked her father, Kyle, to undergo a "low-risk surgery" to donate one of his kidneys to her sister, Jessie.
Nic ensured her father that the surgery would not cause any harm to him or Jessie. This will rather save Jessie's life. But since the twists and turn out of events seem to depict a huge tragedy on either of the two's conditions, one of them may die.
In an interview with Hollywood Life, the series creator, Ame Holden Jones, hints and reveals things about The Resident Season 2 and its upcoming all-new season. As per Jones, the succeeding events of the second season finale will be further shown in detail once the new season arrives on the network, FOX.
She also went to state that one of them may die after the incident. However, she emphasized that there is also a possibility that both of them may live as well. Even so, the succeeding events will surely have a great impact on Nic's life.
It is worth noting that Nic is the one who pursued her father to donate his kidney. Also, Nic loves Jessie so much. So whatever happens between her father and sister, it will surely affect her in many ways.
While Nic is revealed to face personal struggles after the operation, the series creator also hinted what other things that could happen in The Resident Season 3.
According to Jones, Nic and Conrad's relationship in the upcoming season will not be negatively affected. She even stressed out that their relationship is unlike the other relationships that one could see on television nowadays. So, while The Resident Season 2 ended with a possible tragedy, the upcoming season might provide a whole new happy ending for the characters in the plot.
