Read At Your Own Risk: This article contains major spoilers for The Blacklist Season 6
What just happened? For sure, everyone who was able to watch last week's episode of The Blacklist Season 6 is asking the same thing. First, Dembe leaves. And what came next is the unveiling of the shocking truth behind Red's true identity.
All of these major events on The Blacklist Season 6 caused a huge turmoil to the whole fandom. And the spiraling of emotions and thrill has become very apparent in the latest two-part episode, The Brockton College Killer and Rassvet.
On the first part of last week's installment to the season, the whole fandom witnessed the aftermath of Liz's betrayal to Reddington. And much worse when Dembe knew all along that Liz was the one who called the police over Red's head.
Although the betrayal is on point, Liz explained that she just did this to learn the real identity of her supposed father, Reddington. But when she saw that Red was about to face his demise, she realized that she truly cares for Red and not for his past.
While Liz's realization is genuine, Red can no longer trust her. And upon learning that Dembe knew it all along, he felt so much more betrayed since he trusted him more than anyone in his life.
This led Dembe to decide that he should leave Red for good. But before he could fly away, Red appeared on his doorstep and told him that he should no longer ask for his forgiveness because he already did it.
The last few moments of The Brockton College Killer episode has become one of the most emotional scenes in the course of The Blacklist Season 6. As it happens, Dembe responded to Red's affection by stating that he does not forgive Red and leaves.
With his departure at hand, this created questions over the fans whether Hisham Tawfiq, who plays the role of Dembe, is leaving already the show or not. There are no confirmations yet if he will no longer play a part in the series. But there is still a huge chance that will return in the last few remaining episodes of the show.
As for Red's identity, the second part of last week's episode revealed that the real Reddington is already dead. And the current person who claims to be Red is just an imposter. According to Dominic as he revealed these things to Liz, the current Red is Ilya who happens to be an occasional lover of Katarina in the past. And he primarily did this to protect her.
But what made him decide to stay as Red a few years later is still unknown. These things might be revealed in the remaining episodes of the show and possibly in the upcoming season of The Blacklist.
The Blacklist Season 6 returns for its penultimate episode on May 10, on NBC.
