Devoted followers of Song Joong Ki are, now, excited about his upcoming return in the small screens via tvN's Arthdal Chronicles. This is going to be the first project of Song Hye Kyo's husband since he last appeared on Man to Man last year. Though the series faced labor issues last month after the management, allegedly, failed to provide a comfortable working environment to their staff, recent reports suggested that the series will premiere on the scheduled date.
Just a few days before the official debut of Arthdal Chronicles, Song Joong Ki shared some interesting details about his character, Eun Seom. Most fans are aware that the real-life partner of Song Hye Kyo will portray a character that is quite different from the ones he played in the past.
For starters, Eun Seom (Song Joong Ki) is a member of the Wahan Tribe, who will be treated as an outsider due to his unique face and skills. Eun Seom's father is Asahon (Chu Ja Hyun), who is a Neanderthal, while his mom is a human. Viewers will, also, learn more about the mysterious identity of the Joong Ki's character in the imminent Arthdal Chronicles.
In an interview, Song Joong Ki revealed that the identity of Eun Seom is one of the main reasons why he agreed to portray the role. "Although he is hurt often, he does not give up and works hard to find his path in life," the husband of Song Hye Kyo stated. "I became greedy in wanting to portray the pain and innocence that Eun Seom has," he added.
The Descendants of the Sun actor added that his new project would also tackle issues that most humans deal with daily such as greed and ambitions. Song Joong Ki even shared he is confident that many viewers will be able to relate to his character, especially since he will do everything to protect himself and his loved ones.
Even members of the production team are at awe of how the Song Joong Ki was able to pull off in portraying his character as Eun Seom in Arthdal Chronicles. "Through the character of Eun Seom, Song Joong Ki was able to portray the vitality of a new generation with this magnificent storyline," the staff said about Song Hye Kyo's better half. "Please look forward to Song Joong Ki's incredible transformation into Arthdal's stranger Eun Seom who holds a fateful secret," they went on.
