It was previously confirmed On My Block season 3 is happening on Netflix. The renewal announcement came on April 29, which a month after the second season premiered. Right now, there were only a few details about the third installment, and here's everything we know so far.
The renewal was confirmed via the official Twitter account of On My Block, which teased fans with a hashtag "#OnMyBlockS3 is officially on the way!" The announcement of the third season is great news for many, especially since the previous installment ended again with another cliffhanger. Netflix also confirmed that the new season will start filming in Los Angeles this year.

Currently, the release date of On My Block season 3 was not yet revealed. But, it can be noted that the first season debuted in March 2018 on Netflix, and then season 2 was dropped at the end of March 2019. If the series will follow this release schedule, it is very likely fans can expect the arrival of the third installment in late March 2020, or early April 2020.
The entire cast will reportedly return for On My Block season 3. That means Brett Gray will be back as Jamal and Diego Tinoco as Cesar. In addition, Jason Genao will also reprise his role as Ruby, while Sierra Capri will return as Monse. Other cast members expected to come back include Jessica Marie Garcia as Jasmine, Paula Garces as Geny Martinez, Jahking Guillory as Latrelle, and Julio Macias as Oscar 'Spooky' Diaz.
Meanwhile, the plot of On My Block season 3 was not yet revealed as well. But just like the first season, the second installment ended with yet another cliffhanger. It can be recalled that at the end of the previous season, Monse confronted Jamal, Cesar, and Ruby about their friendship and she also told them she's officially leaving Freeridge, before storming off.
Then, the shocking twist here is that Ruby, Cesar, and Jamal have been kidnapped by an unknown gang, and shortly after, Monse was kidnapped as well. So the question now is who kidnapped them? On My Block season 3 will likely follow this mystery, and whether or not it has something to do with their connection taking down the Prophets.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly following the premiere of the second season, showrunner Lauren Lungerich said that the ending of season 2 is setting up for their drive in the third installment. She added that they needed a good cliffhanger as that's how the show is, as they need to always add surprises to make viewers keep coming back for more.
