People recently got some good news from Adult Swim, thanks to a teaser confirming that Rick and Morty will finally return later this year. However, the brief video only showed the two main characters trying to tell the viewers about the fourth season against a black background. So what exactly can fans look forward to in the official Rick and Morty Season 4 trailer? There are speculations that Evil Morty will play a huge role in the teaser.
It has long been believed that Evil Morty is going to be back in Rick and Morty Season 4. The character was first introduced in Season 1 in 'Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind.' However, Evil Morty proved to be more than just a passing character as he once again showed up as the president in the third season episode 'The Ricklantis Mixup.' With that in mind, fans are expecting Evil Morty to play a bigger role in Season 4.
There's another reason why people are holding on to hopes that Evil Morty will return in Rick and Morty Season 4. Back in November 2018, storyboard artist Douglas Einar Olsen urged his Twitter followers to vote by posting a photo featuring several Mortys and a caption asking, "do we really want an Evil Morty to rule the Citadel?"
Olsen has since deleted the tweet but had repeatedly joked about how Rick and Morty Season 4 could check on Evil Morty's administration. Will Evil Morty prove to be a capable president? The truth might finally be revealed this fall.
For now, people can rest assured that Rick and Morty Season 4 is coming along well as the voice actors continue recording for the animated series. Sarah Chalke, who provides the voice of Beth Smith, confirmed that she has been recording new lines for her character in the fourth season. Additionally, Justin Roiland has been doing the same thing, so it shouldn't take long before the new season is complete.
It is still unclear just how many episodes will be included in Rick and Morty Season 4. The previous seasons usually consists of 10 episodes, but co-creator Dan Harmon has stated that he wanted the latest season to have more episodes. Interestingly, Adult Swim has already ordered 70 new episodes for an unspecified number of seasons, and some believe that this could mean each new season will have a greater number of episodes.
Rick and Morty Season 4 has not yet been given an official premiere date. However, the animated series is currently expected to air on Adult Swim in November 2019.
