Rihanna will be doing a Reggae album and almost all of her fans just like the idea that Drake will not be included there. Talking about her latest projects in an interview with playwright Jeremy O. Harris, the article appeared in The New York Times' T Style magazine, and she is also venturing her fashion line in clothing, the Fenty.
The Diamonds hitmaker is also in a serious, already long term relationship with Hassan Jameel, and the latter must be very happy with the singer's lack of interest to collaborate with an ex.
Talking about her upcoming Reggae\dancehall album inspired by her Carribean roots, her ex-boyfriend is openly not a fan of reggae, ragga, soca, zouk, kompa, calypso or dancehall or any Caribbean music. That is why some of her fans who are fond of this kind of genre hope that she will include "authentic island artists as features."
Based on those who are particular with music, there are already Reggae songs that are guilty of not being able to produce a "real authentic West Indian artist" on the album and some "are not just only Jamaican," those that are using fake Jamaican accents.
Rihanna revealed the album's name to be R9, something that she's been hearing a lot lately from the Navy. Her very strong and loyal fan base decided to name her upcoming album as it was already a very common name on their chat. The same reason that the songstress decided to stick with R9, as the title was already able to connect to her millions of followers.
Rihanna also touches the possibility of a Lady Gaga collaboration. However, there are still no vivid projects written for them saying that "Maybe because she followed me on Instagram. It's not in the books right now, but I'm not against it."
But another interesting update with Rihanna recently is the launching of her luxury fashion house, Fenty as products like the corseted Japanese denim minidress ($810), a cotton canvas blazer belted with a coordinating bumbag ($1,100), oversized sunglasses ($460) and a brass-and-crystal earcuff ($420) will go on sale on its pop-up boutique in the Marais district of Paris come Wednesday evening.
Getting out from the traditional slender models, on a catwalk, or during a fashion week, Fenty will look to be in Rihanna's terms as "thick and curvy" current body shape, with all pieces available up to a size 18. Fenty is the first new luxury house to be helmed by a woman of color, while the Umbrella singer's right hand as style director for Fenty will be her longtime stylist, Jahleel Weaver.
