In preparation for the 2019 Enhanced Safety Vehicles (ESF) Conference, Mercedes-Benz has presented its latest concept car based on the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE plug-in hybrid. The new GLE comes with impressive advanced safety features including safety surfaces that allows the car to talk to other cars, a child safety system and seats that give massages.
The "new mobility and safety" will change everything in certain areas of the automotive industry. Connectivity and the technologies related to autonomous driving will change our environment and the way we move around the big cities. Mercedes is aware of that and have seen it on the horizon allowing the 2019 ESF Mercedes-Benz GLE to be born.
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE is equipped with various digital surfaces that allow projecting messages and useful information and that in turn transmit greater security, not only to its driver but to the rest of drivers in the street as well. The grille, rear-window, and LEDs on the roof, even the headlights can flash the direction the car is taking as well as safety and hazard warnings.
Another update we can find in the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE is the digital Light system that offers outstanding lighting without risk of causing glare to the rest of drivers on the road. These lights also adjust themselves base on the environment and the need for it.
A striking feature of the GLE is a small robot that adopts the shape of a warning triangle to notify the rest of vehicles that there is a broken or damaged car. An additional triangle is also shown in the roof of the 2019 Mercedes GLE to offer greater visibility.
The 2019 ESF Mercedes-Benz GLE will also have a driving assistant system called "Pre-Safe Impulse Rear" that can help avoid collisions or mitigate its effects.
Mercedes also adds in the E-active Air Suspension System in the 2019 Mercedes GLE which allows the car to move and bounce up and down. The objective is to help the GLE to move safely on sand or snow. The driver can also independently lift each tire by touching the center screen, so driving on rocks will not be a problem.
Inside the ESF Mercedes-Benz GLE 2019, one can see the MBUX system that will allow the driver to talk to its Mercedes. The system reacts to what is said, and the driver just have to ask for what they want: turn up the volume, go to a certain place and more. The system also has augmented reality technology. So instead of showing a digital map, the GLE uses cameras, with which it projects real images in its navigation.
Other notable safety features inside are the new seat belt tensioners, airbags in new places, a function that monitors the installation of the child seat as well as the vital signs of the child and the retractable steering wheels and pedals.
As part of an optional package, the new Mercedes GLE 2019 also has seats heated and ventilated seats but most importantly, capable of massages.
For those who want to catch the 2019 GLE in action, it will be shown at the 2019 ESV conference, which will be held in the Netherlands. It will also be on display at the 2019 Frankfurt motor show.
