Could fans be seeing Deadpool in Spider-man 3? Speculations are strong that the Merc with a Mouth may soon be joining the web-slinger for his third solo movie.

This would not be a farfetched idea after Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, which formerly held the license to the X-Men, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four franchises.

According to a report by CBR.com, Disney is looking at several means to reintegrate the trash talking character into the Marvel Universe because of his penchant for violence and curse words.

His solo movies have also been PG-13 due to the nature of Deadpool's personality, something different from Disney's kid-friendly approach. Execs are reportedly considering a series headlined by Deadpool in the newly minted Disney + series or a guest role in the third Spider-man film.

A team-up featuring Ryan Reynold's Deadpool and Tom Holland's Spider-man would make sense since the two characters share the same smart-alecky confidence that has made them fan favorites in comic cons, guestings, and movies.

The two characters have also interacted in the comic book universe and could explore several storylines should the partnership materialize. Based on a report by Screenrant, one of the possible storylines for a crossover could be a multiverse plot previously introduced by "Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse."

While the concept was first introduced via the animated feature, the trailer of "Spider-man: Far From Home," already hinted that the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe was ready to explore the multiverse concept from the comics.

In the comics, Deadpool meets Spidey on multiple occasions through a different timeline or universe but it was in 2006, they finally meet the actual versions of themselves in the Cable/Deadpool Issue #24. They have also partnered up to fight different types of villains upon occasion.

The duo also shares a weird dynamic that has them mostly trading barbs against each other or pranking each other. Their comic book origins have found Spider-man and Deadpool at odds with each other with the latter, having the volatile persona that he has, trying to eliminate Spidey multiple times.

There are also times that he and Spidey hung out like regular pals, even watching superhero movies together. This could work with a guest role in an upcoming Spider-man installment.

Further cementing the speculations about a Spider-man and Deadpool on screen collab is Ryan Reynold's recent shoutout to Tom Holland during the promotional run of Deadpool and its sequel.

Reynolds has often trolled the MCU for their upcoming movies, but for this particular shoutout, Reynolds even tagged Tom Holland in his post "thanking" the Vancouver Police Department for closing down the streets for the filming of Spider-man.

For now, fans can relax and wait for the announcement on the next Spider-man or Deadpool film. Spider-man: Far From Home, which ends the Infinity Saga releases in theaters July 2 in the US.
