Game of Thrones prequel is now in the works, as HBO executives and the show's producers are said to be seen in Croatia, scouting for new locations. But as there are reports, the show will have several spinoffs, how many prequels will the network work on?

George R.R. Martin earlier revealed there are three Game of Thrones prequels; two of which are in the script stage while the third one would be the pilot that would start filming in summer. However, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, HBO president of programming Casey Bloys didn't clarify anything, but confirmed they would start shooting the pilot in June. He also added there are "two more" series in development.

Bloys cleared HBO has no plans to work on other Game of Thrones prequels at the moment, as they will be concentrating working on the pilot series. "We're not actively looking or going beyond what we've got in the current pilot," he said.

Bloys also answered the question about doing three more Game of Thrones prequels if the other two scripts and the pilot do well. "All theoretical and all high-class problems! Who knows?!" he said. He later explained he is neither ruling it in or out as he tries his best not to fuel speculations by giving definitive answers.

The first Game of Thrones prequel is now in the works, as Time Out reported HBO executives and the show's producers had been spotted in Croatia in the past week. The group stayed overnight on the island of Korčula and set to return in summer.

Hence, there are speculations one of the Game of Thrones prequels will be once again shot in the country. Croatia has been the famous location of the original HBO series. Split, Dubrovnik, and Klis have received huge global attention after being featured in the series.

The pilot series is believed to be the one with the tentative title Bloodmoon, which would start shooting in Ireland this year. It will be set thousands of years before the original Game of Thrones occurs, which will feature a long-lasting winter that will run for a generation.

It is the time when the White Walkers arrive in Westeros for the first time. Unfortunately, fans will no longer see the iconic Game of Thrones characters they love, as it will feature whole new cast members.

The Game of Thrones prequel will feature the characters that have been mentioned in the series like the House of Stark and Lannister founders Bran the Builder and Lann the Clever. However, HBO has yet to reveal who will play these roles. The spinoff series is believed to be out in 2021.
