Fans are now worried for Jughead's (Cole Sprouse) future in Riverdale Season 4 after he was not seen in core four's flash forward scene in the Season 3 finale. His disappearance is now surrounded by a lot of theories, saying he probably killed someone and he is somewhere hiding.

Fans want Riverdale Season 4 to address Jughead's nonattendance in the flash forward scene. A lot of viewers predicted Sprouse's character is already dead, but it might be impossible to happen.

Hence, according to IRN Post, showrunners may take advantage of Jughead's disappearance in Riverdale Season 4 to cause more drama for the core four. The Season 3 finale featured Archie (KJ Apa), Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Betty (Lili Reinhart), seeming they did something wrong by burning their blood-drenched clothes along with Jughead's signature beanie.

After the mysterious event, Betty asked everyone to never talk about what happened again. She then suggested that they should go on their separate ways.

Fans thought the blood on Archie, Veronica, and Betty's clothes were from Jughead, and his death might be revealed in Riverdale Season 4. However, Reddit user Purple Chili Pepper, via Seventeen, believed the "Macbeth" thing is going to go down.

Allegedly, Jughead went crazy and killed Charles (Wyatt Nash). Thus, the blood seen on their clothes might be his. The reason for Jughead's absence in the flash forward scene was explained to be because he was somewhere else freaking out of what happened.

So, Betty took over, did the damage control, covered up Jughead, and asked Veronica and Archie to help her burn the body and all the evidence. "I think Betty went all Lady Macbeth and was the reason for/driving force behind the murder," the theorist said.

To prove the claim, Purple Chili Pepper explained when Betty took charge; it only proved Jughead committed the murder, as she wouldn't cover up just anyone. Although there were a lot of characters that they could kill with little to no consequences at all, like Penelope (Nathalie Boltt) and Edgar (Chad Michael Murray), murdering Charles might be the most appalling to do, knowing he is an FBI agent.

Charles' position might also be a great explanation of why they did everything to cover up Jughead's wrongdoing. The flash forward scene is believed to be a huge part of Riverdale Season 4.

The show might reveal what happened that night in two different timelines that would tell the truth about it, per Hypable. The CW has yet to announce when Riverdale Season 4 will be out, but it is expected for release later this year.
