Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) will do everything to return to the United States with his father's help in Elementary Season 7 Episode 3. The consulting detective already accepted the fact that he is not bound to return to the U.S., but he needs to find the criminal behind Captain Thomas Gregson's (Aidan Quinn) attack.
"Holmes takes extreme measures to secure his return to New York when he leans on his father's disreputable connections to aid his legal re-entry into the United States," Elementary Season 7 Episode 3 official synopsis read. "Also, while Holmes looks for a way back to the United States, Watson (Lucy Liu) helps the NYPD investigate a murder at a storage facility that caters to wealthy clients with items they want to be hidden from U.S. Customs."
Holmes is not allowed to enter the U.S, as part of the price he has to pay for Michael's (Desmond Harrington) death. Although he is willing to accept his punishment, something happened to Gregson that he needs to return.
According to CarterMatt, Holmes may succeed in returning to the U.S., but there may be a consequence waiting for him - especially if he is using Morland's (John Noble) contacts. He cannot come back to the country without any problems in Sherlock Season 7 Episode 3.
Gregson got fatally attacked, and although he is not technically dead, he is not in good condition either. So in the future episodes, fans will surely get to see if he is going to survive the assault and who is behind the crime.
According to showrunner Rob Doherty, Gregson's attack is not an "episodic story," so it won't get solved right away in Elementary Season 7 Episode 3. "It's something that we will mark throughout the season, and in many respects, it will drive the season," he told TVLine.
Gregson's case is complicated, and it will even get more complex when Sherlock and Joan start to investigate. In the first few episodes of the season, Gregson's prognosis will hang over Sherlock, Joan, and Bell (Jon Michael Hill). Although the case is going to resolve itself, the three still need to find the one who tried to kill him and know its reason.
It will not be easy work, as they have to exhaust their resources and put themselves at risk to find the criminal. Doherty even warned that the closer they get to resolve the case; the closer they become to a very dangerous person.
Hence, Holmes and Joan are making their return to New York City, although it will put the initial at risk to serve a life sentence in the U.S. Elementary Season 7 Episode 3, "The Price of Admission," will be out on Thursday, June 6, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.
