In an interview with the showrunner Chris Chibnall, via Comic Book, he confirmed the return of the Judoon in Doctor Who Season 12, along with other surprises to come. "The Judoon are storming back into Doctor Who full force, and the streets of Gloucester aren't safe," he said.
Chibnall even joked that if anything has to hide, it is the best time to confess now. The Judoon will take no prisoners and will stop at nothing to fulfill their mission in the new season. However, everyone is equally delighted and scared that their back, but they are ready to welcome them with open arms.
The showrunner also revealed Neil Stuke would come his way to Doctor Who Season 12 to join Whittaker. "We can't wait to show you what happens when his path crosses with the Thirteenth Doctor," he teased.
Meanwhile, while shooting outside the Gloucester Cathedral, Whittaker warmly greets her fans who are waiting for her. According to Metro Online, the filming at the said location is also the time Lord is about to meet the Judoon.
Wearing the iconic Doctor outfit, Whittaker joyously put her fists up as she spent time with the onlookers. The Judoon actors, on the other hand, are seen wearing their rhino-head costume as they looked completely terrifying while roaming the area with their space guns. Jo Martin is also seen in the production, playing her role as a tour guide.
Doctor Who Season 12 has been filming in Gloucester since last week. Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole, and Madip Gil were also spotted in South Africa in January for the show's production.
Fans will be up for a long waiting game as Doctor Who Season 12 is not set to be out this year. BBC announced it would be released a little late in 2020.
