NCIS: LA will have a fair share of a sad and great story with the possible exit of Nell (Renée Felice Smith) and Eric (Barrett Foa), and the continuation of JAG crossover. Although the NCIS team has yet to reveal if the two agents will depart their work, the previous season hinted they have to leave.

In NCIS Season 10 Episode 23, "The Guardian," Nell had to abandon a case after receiving a call that told her her mother was unresponsive. From here, she learned her mom had health problems, and it was on its worst stage. The doctors even had to intubate her due to an infection around her heart, per Express.co.uk.

An earlier episode revealed one of the leading centers for coronary heart disease is in San Francisco. So, Nell might leave NCIS: LA to move to the said city for her mother's treatment.

Nell is not the only one who will leave NCIS: LA Season 11 as Eric may also depart the show. In the previous season, Eric received a new offer to work in San Francisco.

Although it is also not yet confirmed if Eric will leave the show, his conversation with Hetty (Linda Hunt) seems to imply he is considering leaving. So in NCIS: LA Season 11, fans may see if Eric and Nell will stay for good in San Francisco or will only stay there for a little while.

Despite the exits, NCIS: LA Season 11 will continue the JAG crossover. Sarah Mackenzie (Catherine Bell) and Harmon Rabb Jr. (David James Elliott) will continuously be seen in the first two episodes of the new installment.

In an interview with showrunner R. Scott Gemmill, via Digital Spy, he said Sarah and Harmon's appearance in NCIS: LA Season 11 is "a great reunion" for the show, fans, and actors. The two's get-together is said to be more exciting than investigating an old case from the classic television series.

"We took a whole different direction, and it makes it much more exciting because you get the best of the past plus what the future is for these people," Gemmill said. Talking about Bella and Elliott's coming to the show, the showrunner described Catherine's role as a strong female lead while he is also excited to bring David's character on the small screen again.

CBS has yet to announce when NCIS: LA Season 11 will be out, but it is expected for release in September. The show's previous seasons are often out in the said month, so it may be safe to assume that the new installment will follow the same timeline.
