Fans are hoping Game of Thrones prequel will give answers to the questions surrounding fan-favorite characters. But as the spinoff is set to occur thousands of years before the fight for the Iron Throne occurs, it may never happen. However, there is a significant character that can make its way to the new series to give light to her storyline.

The Red Priestess or Melisandre can make her way to the Game of Thrones prequel to know the origin story of her neck bling, the huge ruby choker that makes her look young. Although her real age is not revealed, she seems to be a hundred-years-old. The show's online fandom noted she is over 400.

According to Digital Spy, Melisandre may be old enough to know about the Prince that was Promised. She is even the one who delivered the prophecy in Game of Thrones Season 2.

In George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novel, which the show is based on, the Prince that was Promised is said to be the reincarnation of Azor Ahai. This legendary warrior had lived thousands of years ago, and Melisandre had mentioned her a lot of times.

The story of Azor Ahai may be explored in the Game of Thrones prequel as it will reportedly delve into the Golden Age of Heroes and the world's "darkest hour." It is the time when the Night King and his army of White Walkers set foot in Westeros, and Azor Ahai has to use his flaming sword, Lightbringer, to defeat the darkness.

HBO is about to start the production of Game of Thrones prequel. However, the network has been keeping the show's official title. Although there are reports it will be called Bloodmoon, there is also news that it is only a project codename.

Express.co.uk reported the Game of Thrones prequel might also bear the title The Long Night, which is a nod to the episode 3 of the series' final season. It was the time when the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) and his army of the dead attacked Winterfell to kill Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright), but they didn't stand a chance.

To add fuel to the fire, Martin himself even called the show The Long Night when he revealed the casting was underway. However, the famed author reportedly backtracked, saying the spinoff has no official title yet.

It may take a little while before fans get to see the Game of Thrones prequel on the small screens after HBO programming president Casey Bloys didn't reveal when it will be out. But, there are theories it may be for release in 2021.
