Killing Eve season 2 just recently concluded and it ended once again with another cliffhanger. The good news is that Killing Eve season 3 is happening, as the renewal announcement came in April 2019. Now that fans were certain they're getting a third season, many were still wondering what would be the fate of Sandra Oh's character.
The release date of Killing Eve season 3 was not yet revealed, especially since the second season wasn't yet aired in the UK. But some speculated that the cat-and-mouse spy thriller would return to BBC America and AMC in April 2020 with eight episodes.
It can be noted that the first installment premiered on April 8, 2018, while the second one aired on April 7, 2019. If ever the show will still follow the Sunday night slot, then fans can expect the arrival of season 3 on April 5, 2020.
Meanwhile, Killing Eve season 2 left many fans in shock, as the ending was unexpected. It can be recalled that in the last episode of the first season, Eve (Sandra Oh) stabbed Villanelle (Jodie Comer), so the latter returns the favor in season 2 finale as she shot Eve, leaving her in a pool of her blood.
Now, many are wondering if Oh's character will return in Killing Eve season 3. Is she dead? And what's going on with Villanelle's mind right now? Those were just some of the questions that needed answers. But, it's safe to assume the Eve isn't dead, and since the show was renewed for another installment, Oh and Comer aren't going anywhere just yet.
Other cast members expected to come back in the third installment include M16 agent Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw), Kenny (Sean Delaney), and the rest of Eve's squad. Also, the series changed its showrunners for every season, and Suzanne Heathcote will now be taking over for season 3.
She'll replace Emerald Fennell who helmed the second season and took over Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Oh will be one of the executive producers for Killing Eve season 3, alongside Heathcote, Waller-Bridge, Damon Thomas, Gina Mingacci, and new addition Jeff Melvoin.
Killing Eve follows the story of MI6 agent Eve Polastri who developed a relationship with the assassin she's hunting, Villanelle. Villanelle is a talented killer and no pity for her victims but becomes infatuated with Eve. The two goes head to head in a game of cat and mouse, as each of them is obsessed with the other.
