It was previously confirmed that there will be Siren season 3, but there were only a few details about it since the second season is still airing but currently on its midseason break. For now, here's what we know so far about the third installment.
Siren airs on Freeform in the United States, and it also airs in the United Kingdom on Syfy. The series has been renewed for a third season on May 14, and the announcement was made via the Twitter page of the series, noting that Siren season 3 is coming to Freeform, alongside a clip of a mermaid swimming.

The renewal comes as the series was reported as the highest ranking show on Freeform, as per Deadline. Right now, the official release date of the third installment wasn't yet revealed, but the first season premiered in March 2018, then the second one in January 2019. So, fans can likely expect the arrival of Siren season 3 in early 2020.
It's also uncertain how many episodes there will be in the next installment, but season 1 has 10 episodes while season 3 has 16, so season 3 might have no less than 10 episodes. Meanwhile, since the series is currently on its midseason break, it will be back on Freeform on Thursday, June 13, and in the UK shortly afterward.
The official cast list of the third installment wasn't yet revealed as well, but it is expected that the main cast will return - if ever they will survive before the current season ends. That means Eline Powell will be back the teenage mermaid Ryn Fisher and Alex Roe as the marine biologist Ben Pownall and Ryn's love interest.
Also, other cast members that will likely return in season 3 include Ian Verdun as Xander McClure, Tammy Gillis as Marissa Staub, Ron Yuan as Aldon Decker, Rena Owen as Helen Hawkins, as well as Fola Evans-Akingbola as Maddie.
The plot of Siren season 3 is hard to predict since the current season has not yet concluded. The situation in season 2 right now is that there's a huge attack on an oil rig - causing all mermaids on the land to go back to the sea. Then, Helen realized that she isn't the only merfolk to exist and discovers a dark secret.
Meanwhile, a lot of merpeople were turning up in Bristol Cove, so Maggie and Ben tried to hide them from the general public. Ryn, on the other hand, was appointed as the leader of the mermaid colony, yet she's facing threat from her rival Katrina, who sees her as human-like and weak.
